Dr WG Rama Rao Travel Fellowship
Dr WG Rama Rao donated a huge sum to the association to enable
the young physiatrists have a feel of other institution of PMR in
different parts of India. The sum is kept in a fixed deposit in
the bank by the association. The interest incurred is used to
fund the fellowship. This fellowship is awarded to one member of
IAPMR each year. The travel fellow is expected to visit different
institutions of PMR in India with a minimum of three
institutions. The fellow is expected to exchange information by
way of presenting what he or his institution is doing and also visit
the institution and partake in their teaching and clinical activities.
There is no maximum limit to the number of institutions to be
visited. The time to be taken for fellowship depends on the
travel time but most of the travel fellows have been found to spend
about 10-15 days doing so. Many club it with the IAPMR annual
conference time and end their fellowship attending the
conference. The fellowship amount partially covers the travel by
train or cheap flights and accommodation in a hostel or guest house but
is handsome enough to give an opportunity to gain a rich experience of
what others are doing rather than being a frog in a well. We

1. Age: Below 40 years as on the 1st of January of the year in which travelling fellowship is to be undertaken. Please attach proof of age.
2. Must be working in Rehabilitation Medicine.
3. Must have made some contribution in the field of Rehabilitation Medicine.
4. Previous recipients of this award are not eligible to apply.
5. The awardee shall have to send a signed statement that he/she shall fulfill travel and other responsibilities and present his/her report before the next year's Annual National Conference.

7. Applications should reach at least one week before the forthcoming annual national conference of IAPMR usually held in January every year.
8. The executive committee selects the candidate based on his qualifications, experience, papers presented and published etc.
